Barcelona’s Chilean striker Alexis Sánchez made it clear that his future was in Catalunya in a recent interview featured in Sport. When asked about the possibility of leaving the club, the player was adamant: “The manager and the club are counting on me for the next season. I will play for Barcelona next year.”
Barcelona’s already crowded attack has been made all the much more so with the arrival of Brazilian player Neymar, but Sánchez welcomed the competition, and the possibility of linking up with the player: “He will adapt well. I like the idea of competition and I have the quality to play with Neymar and Messi in the Barcelona attack.” Still, Alexis admitted that he was learning a new brand of football at this stage of his career: “To play for Barcelona is to learn how to play football all over again. The things that I did in Italy I cannot do here. Barcelona is a team that is watched by everyone; when you lose the ball the whole world knows about it.”
